Happy Day!

I got the wedding photos and they are awesome! :) It was so much fun to look at them and really think back on the wedding. :) I am so thankful to James and Whitney Clissold at Dream Photo Design (http://www.dreamphotodesign.com/)! They did such a good job! We have all of the photos in Black and White and in Color, which is great- each has a different feel. James also took pictures of the reception (I'm so glad as well). I didn't think to take any pictures of the centerpieces that my friend April and I created (well, April, really, but I helped) but James saved me on that one. :) And I have my very own pictures of Dave looking like a GQ Model. :)

Start watching your mailboxes for your own copies of these photos. :) The hardest part will be choosing which ones to put on the blog as a sample. :)

We had no clue how to cut the cake. :) The photographer stepped in and saved us.

My GQ Model. :)

I love Dave's laugh (and this is a pretty good picture of what he looks like when he laughs)

This is all close family (and one uncle)... parents, brothers, sisters, partners, nieces/nephews.
There's something like 50 of us here.

The centerpiece (lavender in a vase)

Our Rings.... mine is a simple gold band and Dave's is Tungston.

Good News!

The wedding photographer dropped of the photo CD! So I'll finally be able to see the wedding pictures! :) And that means you will too!

More to come soon. :)

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Nick and Darcie (my brother in law and his wife) who got married yesterday in Mesa, Arizona. Tonight they are having their reception in Lindon, Utah (yeah, I don't know where that is). I'm excited. :) I really feel bad that I wasn't in Arizona yesterday to help celebrate.

*August 7, 2008 Follow Up*

Okay, we went to the reception yesterday and it was a lot of fun! :) We didn't get to talk to the bride and groom much, but they looked great- and more importantly, happy. :) The reception was held at a place called "Somewhere Inn Time" and it was really cute- good dinner and cute decorations. Darcie and Nick had a really cute guest sign in book as well- pix of them in the center of each page.

I really enjoyed talking to so many people last night- I met a few new people that are really awesome and also had a chance to talk Hawaii with some others. And of course, the best part was the family- seeing and chatting with everyone. :) I love my new family so much!

Distance

Dave flew to Phoenix, Arizona last night. And I slept like crap all alone. :( It's amazing how our lives have become entwined- the other day I told Dave that the hardest thing about being with him was when we had to be apart. :)

So Dave and the majority of the family flew to Arizona last night. They were supposed to leave at 5 PM but the plane didn't leave until around 9 PM. The airline treated everyone like crap and, in general, everyone was not in a good mood by the time they left (Good Job US Airways!). It was supposed to be Nick's fun night out but I don't think they did much by the time everyone got in. Sad.

Rant: I hate flying in to Phoenix, Arizona. It seems like every flight into or out of that airport is delayed for at least 2 hours (just enough for someone to miss their connecting flight). Every single person I've talked to has not had a good experience flying through that airport and the general rule seems to be: avoid Phoenix, AZ airport if possible.

Dave gets back tonight (hopefully it is easier to get back here than it was to go).

If You Could Hie to Kolob

The above painting was done by my friend Scott and given to Dave and me as a wedding present. I am totally thrilled with this pic. :) It is so wonderful. :) And Scott had a bunch of people from the Financial Aid Office sign the matting surrounding the painting for us. Right now this painting is hanging in our bedroom. It is the first piece of artwork I've ever owned and I am so absolutely thrilled about it. :) One of these days I'll try to get a better pic of it up on this, but I had so many people that wanted to see it that I just had to get something up.
Also, below are the lyrics to the song that I walked down the aisle to. Goes well with the painting. :)

If You Could Hie to Kolob, 284 - William W. Phelps

If you could hie to Kolob In the twinkling of an eye,
And then continue onward With that same speed to fly,
Do you think that you could ever, Through all eternity,
Find out the generation Where Gods began to be?

Or see the grand beginning, Where space did not extend?
Or view the last creation, Where Gods and matter end?
Me thinks the Spirit whispers, “No man has found ‘pure space,’
Nor seen the outside curtains, Where nothing has a place.”

The works of God continue, And worlds and lives abound;
Improvement and progression Have one eternal round.
There is no end to matter; There is no end to space;
There is no end to spirit; There is no end to race.

There is no end to virtue; There is no end to might;
There is no end to wisdom; There is no end to light.
There is no end to union; There is no end to youth;
There is no end to priesthood; There is no end to truth.

There is no end to glory; There is no end to love;
There is no end to being; There is no death above.
There is no end to glory; There is no end to love;
There is no end to being; There is no death above.
